The line between casual, recreational, or even medical drug use and a substance use disorder is often blurry. Use these assessments to see an objective view of your substance use.
Remember, addiction is deeply complex and every individual is different. Drug dependence can sneak up on you. There is no shame in admitting that maybe your substance use has gotten to the point where it becomes hard to control.
If you find yourself in this position it can be helpful to appropriately categorize your drug use so that you know what steps to take to be your best self. This may mean seeking treatment, this may mean simply cutting back or being more aware of your use patterns. Do not be afraid to take that first step.
